I love the name Bonesteel. It's a German name, originally Bohnestiel, meaning bean stalk. It was given to either very tall people (who grow like a bean stalk) or to farmers who grew beans. It's a beautiful name, however it came to be associated with someone.
This fairy sits in Eagle Mills Cemetery (in Rensselaer County, NY), to the left of the plot marker or gravestone denoting the graves of William Sanford Bonesteel, his wife, their children and their children's spouses.

Lonely Grave: Gerald M. Monroe
I found another lonely grave today, at South Wilton Cemetery. Gerald Monroe is interred with only a marker from the funeral home.

Lonely Grave: David Henderson
Okay, so this isn't really a grave, so much as a cenotaph. My mom wanted to check out the Upper Works Trail a few years ago, specifically the McIntyre Furnace, the abandoned town of Adirondac, and the cenotaph for David Henderson. I'm a bit tired, so I'm going to let the links do the talking.
I was looking through some old pictures when I came across a picture of his cenotaph. It's at one end of Calamity Pond (I believe the outlet end). I added a memorial for him on Find a Grave tonight. Does anyone know where he's actually buried?
