Bonesteel Fairy

Fairy, originally uploaded by Cath Drwg.

I love the name Bonesteel. It's a German name, originally Bohnestiel, meaning bean stalk. It was given to either very tall people (who grow like a bean stalk) or to farmers who grew beans. It's a beautiful name, however it came to be associated with someone.

This fairy sits in Eagle Mills Cemetery (in Rensselaer County, NY), to the left of the plot marker or gravestone denoting the graves of William Sanford Bonesteel, his wife, their children and their children's spouses.
